My System Will Not Turn On

Check power plug and power switch directly behind the display. The device requires the power switch to be pushed in for it to turn on.

Also, check the fuse that is located in the plug area. There is a backup fuse that is easy to change out.

I think there is something wrong with the jack. If I push in and up really hard on the iec cable, it will turn back on but is VERY fragile and will shut back off if it is touched in the tiniest way.

I have only used the unit 3 or 4 times and it cut off in the middle of cooking a couple of steaks tonight. The unit is completely dead.

The fuse is blown but there is no spare. Where do I get spares?

Fuse not blown, motor kicks on for about 5 seconds when powered on, screen flickers but unit does not power up. The answer above is pretty much worthless if not insulting.

Fixed mine. We had covered the unit and pot to reduce heat loss to the environment (heats up faster and maintains temperature better). It turns out that the unit is not moisture-proof, so vapor had condensed inside the screen cover. My guess is that this was shorting out something in the screen / control board. By removing the four screws at the back of the screen (with the unit unplugged), I was able to remove the screen protector and dry it off and let the internals air out. About 5 min later, everything appeared dry, so I reassembled, plugged it back in, and back to new. Good to know now that only the bottom half is moisture resistant.
