WI-FI Connectivity Troubleshooting

Before you read this article, ensure that your WI-FI network has met all of the minimum requirements listed here.

If you received an unsuccessful message, follow the steps listed below:

  1. Unpair your cooker from the Anova app (Top left icon in iOS, "More" on the bottom right section for Android) > Unpair or disconnect Precision Cooker.
  2. Unplug and then re-plug in your Precision Cooker WI-FI.
  3. Press and hold the WI-FI icon on the Precision Cooker WI-FI until it beeps once (approximately 4 seconds) - this will clear any existing settings and will help connect you faster. The WI-FI restarting process can take upwards of one minute to complete.
  4. Delete the Anova app - this will clear any existing settings on your app and smooth out the connection process
  5. Reinstall the Anova app and follow the connection process
  6. Please revisit this link to ensure you meet the WI-FI connection requirements

If you received an unsuccessful message again, this form will help diagnose the issue blocking connection. Once diagnosed, try the steps listed above once more.

    I wish I could say the same worked for me, as I would prefer WPA2/AES to be in effect. This was quite literally the last resort and it worked, but I'm definitely open to other solutions.

    This is embarrassing for Anova. With the number of WiFi connected devices on the market I'm also considering returning my new item as this WiFi simply won't stay connected. Support should be on this quickly if they want to save their image in the market.

    So just about every other Application, technical device, website and so on WANTS you to use special characters - except for Anova. Why??? The same question applies for the prohibition to use 5 GHz band. This is off-the-shelf technology nowadays, so why the heck can't I use it with my top gear Anova device???
